BOBSON (buh boh soh un), a pure Japanese denim brand, arrives in the Philippines and the first boutique is right here in the city of Cagayan de Oro. They bring the Japanese denim craftsmanship and its heritage to the Philippine fashion scene.
There are many fashion statements today and it is always shifting. But anyone can’t go wrong with simplicity. Denim has long been in the fashion industry. And BOBSON gives us fresh, modern and clean approach to denim that brings out the sophistication of every Filipino fashionista.
Founded by Toshiharu Ozaki in Japan’s Okayama prefecture, the country’s denim capital, BOBSON brings with it 54 years of solid denim heritage that gives it the edge in knowing the market’s needs and creating jeans of superior craftsmanship. Today, the brand continues its legacy of finely-crafted jeans as it expands its market in the Philippines.
“BOBSON is here to redefine the jeans scene in the Philippines. The brand aims to stand for comfort, style, and quality that is rooted in superior Japanese craftsmanship. We are excited to bring these impeccably-made jeans to the market with the arrival of BOBSON from Japan,” remarks BOBSON brand director Chris Magnaye.
Every piece of BOBSON denim is made with great attention to detail and the commitment to produce quality denim. We have known the Japanese with these characteristics on their crafts like origami, ikebana and among others. Each of the BOBSON denim is constructed with much care and precision which makes it one of your wardrobe must-haves of quality, comfort and style.
According to Chris Magnaye (BOBSON’s brand director):
“We give denim lovers pieces that make them look fashionable without the effort. Moreover, BOBSON goes beyond face value, because a touch of the fabric and examination of the construction would reveal that the fine craftsmanship is present in each pair of jeans – this is the BOBSON Denim DNA.”
The DNA (as what Chris Magnaye mentioned above) is what sets BOBSON apart from the others. Among of the key elements is the left hand twill, a kind of weave that makes every pair more like a second skin; stitch belt loops for stronger construction; and pewter rivet buttons that are more durable. Every denim comes with Stitches per Inch or SPI and BOBSON is made with 11 stitches per inch that achieve a refined look and the crest-shaped back pocket design to mark its Japanese heritage.
The Eight Denim DNAs:
- Clean open outseam finish = Neat, clean finish
- J-insert loop = Stronger construction
- Authentic Japanese extended waistband = Stronger hold and durability
- 11 stitches per inch (SPI) = More refined look
- Hang loops = less creases
- Finer stitching = more refined look
- Ergonomic Hand-fitted = specific function
- Curve back risers and darts = To accentuate from behind
- Crest-shaped back pocket design =Japanese heritage and craftsmanship
The red dot logo reflects “The Land of the Rising Sun” – Japan, its roots. Bobson envisions to be the denim of choice for people who never compromise quality.
“The BOBSON wearer is the polished man or woman who wants staple pieces that are clean, fresh and simple, but always relevant. And with a look that is stylish and streamlined, the brand is definitely set to be every Filipino’s denim companion throughout the fashion seasons,” Magnaye concludes.
Why put up the boutique here in CDO?
Chris Magnaye was asked this question. Kagay-anons, are curious why they opened their first BOBSON boutique in Philippines here in Cagayan de Oro. He said, “Why Not?” and then flash a smile. Cagayan de Oro is indeed a good place to put up a business nowadays, being the gateway to Northern Mindanao.
Get your pair of jeans at the BOBSON boutique, 1st Level West Concourse, Limketkai Mall. When you purchase their denim jeans, they have a free iteration (if you want too) and also serves complimentary tea while waiting. Follow BOBSON Japan on their Facebook page for more updates.
